Coach Gillespie has been involved in the Kell football program for the last nine years. He coached in the junior program for five years and this will be his forth year in the varsity program. He coaches kickers, punters, snappers and holders.

Rusty has been active in the Kell booster club at both the junior and senior levels for nine years, as well. His focus is on fundraising, team meals and other food acquisitions for various aspects of our program.

Rusty is a graduate of Spray berry high school where he was a kicker, punter, and a soccer player. He then attended the University of Georgia from 1980 to 1985. He played for Vince Dooley and was coached by the late William Hartman, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest kicking coaches ever. Coach Gillespie also played for Steve Sprier and the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL.

Coach Gillespie has been married to Sheila for 19 years. They currently one child, Brett, who is a senior at Kell. Their daughter, Kathryn, passed away in 2000 at the age of five. Coach Gillespie is looking foreword to working with the Kell football team in 2010.
